The artist Silvia Salvadori specialises in gold background painting typical of the Tuscan medieval tradition

The artist Silvia Salvadori specialises in gold background painting typical of the Tuscan medieval tradition.

Painting on a gold background was also used during the Renaissance and this painting tradition originated between Siena and Arezzo.

Silvia Salvadori is a well-known artist in Italy and abroad for her beautiful works painted on pure gold. Her colours are all original and precious.

On commission, she can paint modern subjects, portraits, landscapes, medieval hunting scenes, Tuscan landscapes in gold background and reproductions of art from the past. Every single work is a true jewel to be collected.

Paints and sells traditional Tuscany art reprographics, replicating the work of the great Tuscany

painters of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Silvia specializes in the egg-yolk tempera technique, as described in the famous manual on medieval painting by Cennino Cennini.

She reproduces the world-renowned "Biccherne" panels-which were painted, wooden covers placed over the accounting ledgers of the City of Siena, from the 13th to 16th centuries.

The panels were painted by such famous masters of the Renaissance as Duccio di Boninsegna, Pietro Lorenzetti, Simone Martini, Sano di Pietro, Piero della Francesca, Cimabue, etc.

As with the originals, Silvia's recreations are painted on aged, quality wood and covered in pure gold leaf 23 carat.

Silvia on commission creates elegant copies of Tuscany icon and beautiful gilded icons, preserving the atmosphere of medieval Tuscany and the tradition of fine painting.
