Giovanni di Paolo (Siena c. 1400 - 1482), Italian painter and miniaturist, one of the most important artists of the 15th century Sienese school. In Giovanni di Paolo's early works, the influence of previous Sienese masters such as Pietro Lorenzetti is noted, but his mature style became more and more personal, characterized by strong, clean colors and elongated shapes. The late Gothic polyptychs of Giovanni di Paolo, suggest an almost surreal atmosphere, the human figures, very expressive and defined by clear contour signs, are painted in geometric landscapes enriched with small scenes by Giovanni di Paolo's works, among which the Madonna of Humility (c. 1445) and the Last Judgment (1460-1465), also by Giovanni di Paolo. Study of the Virgin with the Child. Reinterpretation of the decor in pure gold.

The elements that distinguish this work are the rich decoration made of gold, coupled with a wonderful mastery in repainting the faces. In the interior halo, we notice a superb decoration, even more highlighted by a very fine granite on gold made of agate stone tip. The face of the Virgin was painted with a brush tip. Brushes are delicate and soft enough to make the skin of the Virgin Mary almost true. The baby's robes are all embroidered on gold, while the blue mantle of Mary is finished with an elegant decoration engraved on gold (the inside rim of Mary's dress). This work can be considered a real gem, where the color blends on gold and intertwines along the elaborate texture to create wonderful light games. Silvia Salvadori Tempera on Gold Leaf 23k. Icon of Saint Mary Magdalene. Art reproduction by Silvia Salvadori drawn from Sano di Pietro. Study of Sano di Pietro's painting.

Sacred icon made with tempera and pure gold on wood. Work performed with the ancient pictorial techniques of the Sienese school of the fifteenth century. 10 x 20 cm In this work, Silvia Salvadori tried to cure in every detail the figure of Mary Magdalene, giving her extreme elegance and lightness to her hair. There is a great naturalistic yield and a wise use of color, always shimmering and full of vibrant light in the palette of Silvia Salvadori. The alabaster blanket with well-drawn veins has been painted with few and sharp brush strokes, creating an effect of desired transparency.  The kingship of the Virgin Magdalene is made even more evident by the fine ermine fur that falls along the garment of a light purple. Even in this work Silvia Salvadori wanted to resume in the delicate tones of the face all the grace and beauty of the brushstroke of Simone Martini. Refined and elegant is finally the long band consisting of a geometric golden weave placed at the closure of the mantle. History: Sano di Pietro, was active since 1428 and was artistically trained at Sassetta. Sano di Pietro was one of the most important 400th Sienese painters. One of the first works of Sano di Pietro was the "Coronation of the Virgin" painted in about 1440 in Siena. In 1444 painted two tables depicting "St. Bernardin preaching in Siena »and« St. Bernardin preaching in St. Francis Square, "both kept in the main room in the Cathedral of Siena.  The two works of remarkable charm and beauty, arouse interest in many archaeologists and historians. Sano di Pietro left us a huge production, preserved largely in Siena and in the province. His best works are characterized by a great sophistication of design, color and a wise use of gold and gold decoration. These works reveal the gentle religiosity of Sano, devoid of sentimentality and still a daughter of austerity throughout the thirteenth century. Icon of the Announcing Angel painted by Silvia Salvadori. Study of the pictorial style of Spinello Aretino and reinterpretation.

Sacred icon made with tempera and pure gold on wood. Work performed with the ancient pictorial techniques of the Sienese school of the fifteenth century. 25 x 30 cm In this work, the teacher Silvia Salvadori wanted to give more emphasis to the shimmering colors typical of Spinello Aretino's painting and at the same time ingenine the features of the angel's face with the typical trait of Simone Martini's hand. The angel's wings are also special. For example, in the original painting by Spinello Aretino angel wings are made heavy and static, while Silvia Salvadori added numerous light games. All the set is made with more naturalism and up to transform each feather into a true feather.  The painting is extremely elegant and even more enriched by the meticulous decorations made on the agate and punch stone. The decoration was further enriched by applying precious stones (rock crystal gems and blue sapphire) on the gold floral decorations. Very elegant is the pink and purple dress, also enriched by subtle glossy golden accents with the original "scratch" technique on gold. A bit of history: Spinello of Spinelli Spinelli, commonly known as Spinello Aretino (Capolona (Arezzo), 1350 - March 14, 1410) was an Italian painter, one of the most active in Tuscany in the second half of the fourteenth century. His family was originally from Capolona. “His father called Luca, a refined goldsmith, moved to Arezzo where Spinello grew "... so inclined by nature to being a painter, who almost without a teacher, being still a child, knew what many practiced, under the discipline of the best masters, do not know "(Giorgio Vasari). His training took place in Arezzo, where he learned from painter Andrea di Nerio.
